But can I just ask one wee little question and then I'll be done. What is the constellation on the Magician card ?
I have gone through the list here:

https://iau.org/public/themes/constellations/

I'm thinking it's a modified Leo or Leo Minor...

Attila (the artist of that card) just replied to me. He says it's
Gemini, generally associated to the Magician as a symbol of study and learning.

Yay !!! I was right !!! I went hunting yesterday and that was my conclusion. I think it's the first time in my life that I've looked at the shapes of the constellations. Maybe I should start. But there's so much to do so much to learn so much that no-one can do everything in one lifetime. Maybe that's why we have many.

The 8 of Wands Ladies and Gentlemen, from Torisaur

The imagery is very strong.

It reminds me that I would very much like to get from every card creator a short description of how you came to use the imagery you chose for your card. I think that would be really interesting for people to know. There's a very unique story behind each card about what inspired it. I think it would make an really special supplement to this deck.

That's so beautiful that this card struck such a powerful chord for you!

And after watching that powerful little video, I am feeling the strength of it all too.

Thanks y'all

Haha. I was actually inspired by this anime episode from Haruhi Suzumiya.

There's a very controversial arc called Endless Eight. They remade the same episode in 8 different ways because in the original story they were in a time loop that'd been going on for, at that point, thousands of loops. I really loved it but a lot of people would get kinda depressed by the 5th iteration hahaha. To me it was an achievement. But anyway, the lead girl is basically a god without knowing it and everytime their summer break ends she seems to feel unsatisfied and goes home, and the loop starts again. At a certain point, after thousands of years of de ja vu, the only character who's been conscious for all iterations, an alien robot, who you can tell is starting to subtly lose it a little and has her own related arc about it after, is made to fill them in by the other characters, in devastating detail. When he's aware he's in a loop, the lead guy runs and tries to stop her from leaving because otherwise the loop will happen again. But he can't figure out how to stop her and what to say. And then she leaves, and the loop happens again. And each time the tension is higher and the feeling is stranger.

If you don't want to be spoiled don't read the following....don't know how spoiler tags work here.

In the end the main character is finally able to break the loop, and the way the animators did it, especially for the viewer, was very cathartic. The scene sort of sparks the feeling within your own stressed out depressed self by that point. The feeling of being doomed and what's the point and resignation because your hopes and expectations keep being dashed, because you feel like the pattern is larger than you and endless and you're just a drop in the ocean and all that jazz - and then this scene happens :D. haha. It's great.

Here I'll put it here.

It's very dramatic and odd but at that point the viewer had earned it, hahaha. I encourage anyone to watch it, but also my partner called me evil for putting him through it. In my defense, I had thought he knew there were 8 episodes, but when I realized he didn't, I decided to give him the same experience all of Japan and many american audiences had, and not let him know it was only 8 episodes (it's in the name though...but I think at that point your emotions are telling you 'this is never going to end').

But then after when I was tracing it I realized it looked like a Black Power fist and that made me really happy too. I felt like it fit. Plus I love sparklers / fireworks as the Ace of Wands. I think it makes sense. But I feel like if there's anything that can break a longset pattern and inspire you in the face of feeling incapable or ...what's the word.....like you're not able to change anything or whatever - it's the inspiration and spark of strength and hope and creative vision that is the Ace of Wands. I'm thinking now that the Wands are about creativity and vocation and projects sure, but spiritually also about strength and the will to fight and endure for what you believe in, no matter the odds, and sometimes no matter the costs. And that can extend to belief in yourself and your ability to change and affect change too. "it makes a difference, I make a difference."
On my phone mainly so pardon the typos! Also if I seem more lucid than average, I'm probably typing on a PC. Hah!

The raised fist is so many things to so many people. So many things but yet still one. It's hugely powerful and I'm sure it is now part of the collective unconsciousness. It's a symbol for the archetype of the resistant. For the Americans, it would be the symbol of black power. In Southern Africa, it was the symbol of resistance to apartheid. For communists it is a symbol of breaking the shackles of the prison of class and exploitation. For the antifa, it's the symbol for anti-fascism.

There is a very interesting article on wikipedia about its history. I have myself spent many a moment with my fist raised when singing with fervour L'internationale ! 8-)

Considering that this thread is now perhaps the sign that we're eager to talk about the cards already published, I'm wondering Joan Marie if we could perhaps have a space where we could already begin ? The deck is really starting to take form and some patterns are appearing within it.

Thank you for your comment, AstralPasta. I’m grateful that you shared your perspective. You’ve given me an insight with your comment.
For me, strength is gentle, like the young woman or person in the RWS, but strength must also have courage and conviction. It cuts through the artificial to get to what is real.
