Hi people! I'm Jo. I love tarot and making things. (painting, knitting, sewing, collage, dyeing etc). I'm starting to gather ideas to try making an oracle deck someday, just for me initially but we will see how it goes...
My first deck was the Rider-Waite. I could also count a little majors only deck that came with a magazine when I was 14 or so lol). I am just starting to use the Thoth deck as well which is beautiful and very good for unapologetic truth- telling (;
My favourite card is The Star, though I love all of them. Think it's because I love astronomy although I live in a city so only get to see the really bright stars!
This forum looks so busy which is awesome! Nice to meet you all xxx

Hi! Welcome and keep your eyes out for a post I'm working on right now. It's an interview I did with Lon Milo Duquette, author of (among a lot of other books) "Understanding Aleister Crowley's Thoth Tarot."jobarghest wrote: ↑29 Nov 2019, 13:08 I am just starting to use the Thoth deck as well which is beautiful and very good for unapologetic truth- telling (;

-lol- Hello lovelies ! Now that is the most delightful title I've ever seen for an introduction !
And hello back to you Jo !!
Speaking of the Star. You know, I've been into Tarot for a couple of decades or so and never once has the Star needed to be interpreted reversed in my readings. It's always astonished me somewhat. Whenever she turns up, all is beautiful. She doesn't turn up so often though, beautiful harmonious situations are not as frequent as all that it seems, there is so often some mitigating factor. There's no other card that I can rely on as completely.
Thanks for joining us Jo.

Rumi was asked “which music sound is haram?” Rumi replied, "The sound of tablespoons playing in the pots of the rich, which are heard by the ears of the poor and hungry." (haram means forbidden)
