3 Card Spread - Interpretation?

Hi everyone,

I am very new to tarot (and to this forum). I recently bought the Radiant Wise Spirit Tarot Deck and was using it tonight to gain some clarity about a "relationship" I have with a man. We chatted online for almost a year, during which we got to connect emotionally. Recently, we met in person and connected physically as well. Unfortunately, there is physical distance between us that prevents us from exploring the possibility of a long-term relationship.

I did not expect to connect to him so strongly in person, and I find myself still thinking about "what could be." We actually share the same birthday (but he is one year older). I wonder if we could be each other's Twin Flames, but I may be too young and inexperienced and that is why I am feeling this way?

Anyway, I asked Spirit to show me what mine and his relationship looks like in the future. (This may have been a bad question to ask. I definitely will use an actual spread in the future.) I drew the following 3 cards linearly (from left to right): Ace of Wands, The Devil, and The Lovers. These cards indicate a lot of sexual attraction (as I picked up from the Devil and Ace of Wands), but the Lovers card confused me. With the combination of those three, I am wondering if it will be more of a sexual/physical connection between us only, rather than an emotional one as well? I would love to hear what you think, please help!

I think that you did a very good job as a new reader. Here's what I would say. Because you did the three cards with no spread positions I think it's likely to read the cards as a single answer. In that case, I think that you're right about the physical/sexual bit and that's as much as you can read into it.

Keep in mind that the Lovers doesn't necessarily relate to romance, marriage, or anything like that. I can, but it has a range of meanings. Here, I would think it just simply refers to the relationship who's nature was described in the previous 2 cards.

The card that I would urge you to think more about is the devil. If I understand your interpretation, you're basically combining the Ace and The Devil to describe the sex. This is possible. In that case Devil reinforces Ace and, as a new reader, the cards may be giving you simple reinforcing messages. It's also possible, that Ace is enough to talk about the sex all on it's own and The Devil is a different message. I certainly don't have an answer but I'd advise you to spend a minute to think about whether or not the Devil is just a reinforcement or if it's a warning that, perhaps, getting caught up in this is going to be detrimental to you. I'm not trying to be a downer, I'm just saying to think about it.

Wise = Devil
Spirit = Lovers

with the key card being The Lovers,

then perhaps the cards say the potential for spiritual expansion is there, if you face the challenge with optimism.
And don't be afraid of the disappointment if things don't turn out as planned, the experience can only make you stronger.
