La Baraja Española
My Deck is the precious old gyspsy Baraja Española! Spanish playing cards! My deck comes straight from Mexico and it has been very accurate! Let’s exchange !
Re: La Baraja Española
I bought a deck of baraja cards after I saw them on TV and fell in love with their beauty - those airy compositions and colours! Then I started collecting card meanings and wow, the different traditions are so confusing! I read with them only ONCE but that was very precise. I used no fixed card meanings but simply what I saw in the cards themselves (Ben Dov's open reading method).
I have to take out all my playing cards again and start reading with them!
How do you read with them?

Re: La Baraja Española
I don’t follo any guidelines when I read with them. It’s intuitive and I drop th cards how I feel. Or let someone else pick them and place them. Pretty much anything goes. I also do the entire spread; like the old gypsy way
Re: La Baraja Española
I finally have my baraja española! It's the Los Dos Tigres from Fournier, following the Cádiz pattern.
I think Nemia's deck follows the Castilian pattern, as can be seen here.
I wonder if others use barajas too. I'm excited to use because it seems like such a straightforward system.

Re: La Baraja Española
Btw regarding books, I'm currently reading Secrets of the Spanish Playing Cards by Kara Janssen and Easy Learning Spanish Playing Cards by Lizet Valcoli.
Can anyone recommend more resources in English for reading this deck? A lot of books and sites are unsurprisingly in Spanish, and my grasp of it is rudimentary at best.
It's a mighty curious thing, this baraja española.
