In US, buying deck from Europe
I've become really interested in the Tarocchi di Dario Fo. Amazon seems to have it for $85 but dalnegro.com and tarotbg.eu list it for $50-$60 (not including shipping). Not sure who to go with, and I've never ordered a deck from Europe before. Can anyone speak to these sellers, or does anyone have any suggestions? Thanks.

All I can say is buyer beware.fool2world wrote: ↑06 Aug 2020, 13:11 I've become really interested in the Tarocchi di Dario Fo. Sometimes those good deals are just cheap printed knock offs.
I had a look and dalnegro looks legit, but I can't say. They seem to deal only in historical decks so they wouldn't be pirating them, but the quality of the cardstock, the print, the packaging, is all in question and they don't seem to offer any details. Same goes for Amazon really.
if I were you and about to spend that much on a deck, I'd look to see if there is some kind of reputable historical deck restorer/dealer that has it. Those guys take really loving care in the reproduction.
Here are a couple, both I can highly recommend. One is in Italy, one in France.
Giordano Berti: https://rinascimentoitalianartenglish.wordpress.com/
Yves Reynaud: https://www.tarot-de-marseille-heritage ... index.html
You can even write these guys and ask them about the deck you're looking for. if anyone will know about it and about the companies you are talking about it is them.
I wish you luck. It's a beautiful deck. You deserve to get the best edition of it for that money.
EDIT: Dal Negro may very well be the original publisher of that deck. It's possible, but I don't know.

You will buy from Amazon? I got mine in 2018 for $89. The Amazon version is legit. It was sold by "italian objects".

I just tried to create an order via the DalNegro site to see what the shipping charge would be but I wasn't allowed to register an account - the user registration doesn't permit it if you're not in Italy.
And their list of distributors consist only of ones in Sweden, the Philippines, and Russia, nobody in or for the Americas.

Yes, that's the same seller I see on Amazon. They've got a 98% positive rating over the last 12 months with 411 sold items, so I guess I'll probably go with them. They're making a nice profit there, even more if they're buying wholesale!fire cat pickles wrote: ↑06 Aug 2020, 13:53 You will buy from Amazon? I got mine in 2018 for $89. I wanted to order a deck from Dal Negro once and ran up against the same issue (I'm in the UK). But I have purchased decks from TarotBG and they're good.fool2world wrote: ↑06 Aug 2020, 19:21 I just tried to create an order via the DalNegro site to see what the shipping charge would be but I wasn't allowed to register an account - the user registration doesn't permit it if you're not in Italy.

Thanks, that's good to know for future reference. But for this deck I think I'll end up choosing Amazon. Just went to tarotbg.eu and with shipping it's $2 cheaper than at Amazon, but I have the Amazon credit card which gives me 5%-credit on purchases so after tax they're the same price, but Amazon has it in stock for Prime 2-day delivery. (And Amazon offers purchase protections in case of any problems.)
It's not cheap, so I'm still thinking about it, but everyone here has helped me clarify my options. Thanks!
Re: In US, buying deck from Europe
I know for fact Tarotbg is legit EU shop that order decks from publisher by retail price I had them buy my decks(limited EU edt Ethernal Sand of Time & Arcanes du kabbalistique@:) & i'm happy with their communication & all so recommended!
Also I know amazon ebay etsy etc lax policy promote pirates so Avoid!
Alidastore is italy shop I noticed have plenty of interesting titles you may wish to check? Not sure if they are legit but imo Italy is EU so Originals most likely?:)
