These Cat tarots are always such a slam/dunk on Kickstarter.
I like how this one has no pretence and just calls itself, "Cute Cat Tarot."

Not my personal cup of tea but clearly it is for many, many, many, many, many people.

Maybe we should make a "Cat Oracle" for our group project.

I said that as a joke, but suddenly I am not so sure it is.....😼

Why didn't they call the Hanged Man - Hanged Cat????

I'm a felinophile and like cat tarot decks - I have three (Pagan Cats, Considerate Cats, Kissa), and each of them uses the cat motif in a totally different way.

But there are MANY cat decks and animal decks. I won't be easy to stand out. And whether we use cats or not - we still have to decide about the kind of oracle we want. Prophecies, reflection, problem solving - a deck centered on self discovery or communication with others - and if cats, we can either anthromporhize or not, use humour or not, make them appear mystical and magical or not.....

But ideas are always good.

I'd love to make an amigurumi deck but don't have time for it :-(

 I'm taking that as a "no"

I think the same thing that there are sooooooooo many cat decks, how can there be another but they just always kill on kickstarter. It boggles my mind.

One thing nearly all I have seen (and i don't study them, so...) have in common is they are super-cute, pastelly, cartoony, kinds of things.

There is one that was kind of popular and as loath as I am to criticise any deck too much, the Harry Potter Cat Deck was pretty much a sort of wonderful abomination. I'm pretty sure i heard it got taken off the market. Seems JKR had not given any permission for that. Apparently replacing the actors heads with cat heads was not enough to avoid copyright infringement on the greatest cash-cow of all time.

And then there is whatever this is:

The stuff of nightmares...
The stuff of nightmares...

Okay...well, maybe the concept triggers a better one!

Exactly my point!

Agree 100%! yes, it would definitely make great oracle deck (& it don't need to feat actual cats just perspective/philosophy quotes call it Cat's Wisdom or something ?! Sorry just kidding, think i've seen something like that on etsy, but imo Cats are probably popular as it works well as glue for whole deck & card system as Everyone can connect with Cats! like im always lol reading ebay listing statement *we have cats, but cat don't read cards! totally sound like they could & make me wonder what would my cat tell me if she could read my deck or divine in general!?  But since you are set on no text how about *wheel of wisdom/ Divine Oracle Visions scenes you may see/experience during your readings or something? btw Cattarot may be Heavy inspired by Susan Herbert https://www.thegreatcat.org/the-cat-in- ... 4-british/
surprised non of our well known cat deck never mention her as inspiration/or im missing it?
Whut!? There is Harry Potter Cat Tarot *runs to google,,

@Nemia bc it sound bad! it should be Hanging out Cat! also agree! i was like Whut??! seeing MerMaid cats tarot deck on ks recently! facepalm lol

@Rachelcat tnx 4 link! checking it asap! eta: aww! totally Awesome & proves my point perfect!^^ lol

I saw the post re. a cat oracle last night and decided to sleep on it, and this morning all the possibilities and advantages landed on my head - too many to list here (reall has listed a few and JM's range of cat types was neat too). One advantage is the possibility of creating an image before writing a brief guide and/or choosing a keyword (either on or off the card), so freeing one from things like facial expression, accurate body language etc. The simplicity of the cat image (which may be depicted in so many ways) could be very liberating.

Susan Herbert - how come I've never heard of her! Thanks for the link, reall! That looks like a brilliant site to explore later.

you are welcome! & That was Exactly my reaction when I 1st discovered her art!
BTW another name to check is Louis Wain: https://www.artsy.net/article/artsy-edi ... louis-wain
especially his abstract colorfull art would make awesome oracle style! :D imo some popular cat oracle may be even inspired by his art but I never hear his name before,,,

p.s don't worry JM we Are Not Making Cat Oracle! But it may serve as great example & rolemodel for our *Collective Diviners Oracle & gives me awesome ideas for brainstorm will post more elaborate on that topic for weekend!
