Bloodmoon - how will you celebrate?
Bloodmoon - how will you celebrate?
I'm looking very forward to tonight. A long bloodmoon and a glowing, huge Mars quite close to it!
I will now prepare my little bloodmoon altar and tonight, we'll watch the spectacle from the beginning to the end, like we nearly always do. I think red wine will be fitting, and I'll make a red meal - we all love red beets and that's probably what I will make
I'll have to think about other ingredients for a good and powerful bloodmoon night.

Re: Bloodmoon - how will you celebrate?
We are having friends over to watch. I have prepared gazpacho and hummus with red beet.
I was thinking also about a red wine toast.
I also thought I may ask my guests to write down a wish on the blood moon and then burn all the wishes at one point. Not sure if I can pull that off with this group, but we' ll see.
Also, it is my boyfriend's birthday and he is preparing a songlist of Moon songs. He is a record collector so this will all be all analog. Old school.
I have requested the B52's "Planet Claire". Not technically a moon song, but in the spirit.

And in honour of Mars making such a beautiful showing, I think we can add at least a couple of spot-on songs from Mr. David Bowie to the playlist.

It was beautiful. So red. So clear. Mars so bright. A beautiful event.

Did your guest co-operate with your burning the wish ritual, Joan Marie?Joan Marie wrote: ↑27 Jul 2018, 22:59 It was beautiful. So red. So clear. Mars so bright. A beautiful event.

Re: Bloodmoon - how will you celebrate?
It didn't feel right asking them to do that, it just wasn't the right vibe, but later when we were all standing in the dark looking up, I would walk up to people and say to them personally, "make a wish on the moon."
People were very receptive to this and would close their eyes and make a wish, in a fairly solemn moment.
Some people I could feel were making a wish for someone they loved and after I would say, "now make one for yourself."
They would look at me and say "how did know?" And then they made a second wish, this time for themselves.
A beautiful night I will never forget.
