Finding lost objects with the help of the Tarot ?

Post by Diana »

Has anyone had any success ever with finding lost objects with the help of a Tarot deck ? Sometimes people speak of this. I've tried it a couple of times and have never had even a hint of any success. I think a pendulum would probably be of more assistance, but I've never had any luck with pendulums either. We don't seem to function together.

I've mislaid my Knapp Hall tarot deck. The one by Manley P. Hall. I know I still have it. I would never ever have sold it or given it away. I've been looking for it for months now. And I really want to find it.

There is a ghastly re-edition that was published I see. Sigh... why do publishers make such ugly re-editions sometimes ? Well, they'll be judged one day by the Great Judges in the Tarot Sky and will receive their rightful due. Brrrrr. 🥶 That at least is a comfort. http://www.aeclectic.net/tarot/cards/knapp-hall/ For heaven's sake. Why not fluo colours while we're about it ?

It's US Games. It's not the first time they've corrupted a tarot. The Oswald Wirth deck.... apart from a lack of respect for the original Majors (they obviously didn't bother reading his book), they added MINORS !!! Wirth never ever bothered with the minors. So they just made some up and called it an Oswald Wirth deck. Idiots.

I want my old Knapp Hall. The one that I see sells for about 250 dollars now. It's not the money - I'm not interested in its monetary worth. I just want the pieces of cardboard with those pictures on them. It was a second hand deck (I love second hand decks) so was full of history and mystery.

So what's the story behind finding lost objects with the help of the tarot ?

Have not heard of this but I have heard that Lenormand is good for that though I have not tried it. I seem to recall somewhere a post from Charlie Brown about it.

I think it was a fluke, but I helped a girl find her keys by pulling the Ace of Wands and said they were in her bf's underwear drawer. Totally were. I think I found something else for someone on tumblr once but don't remember the details.

Oh that's very funny. 😂

Do you want to see if you can do another fluke ? How about you pull me a quick card ? The last time I saw it it was either in a drawer in my living room, or on my piano. (It's not behind the piano or under, I checked.)

If anyone helps me find it with their tarot or their lenormand or anything, they'll receive a box of real Swiss chocolates. Not the industrial kind.

I pulled a card yesterday. But it was the Wheel of Fortune and that doesn't make any sense at all. Except to say it'll turn up one day. But that's not what I asked.

Okay- My Lenormand says it's with a book. I'm pretty sure about this. Maybe near a bookcase?
I did a 3 card draw and one of the 3 was the Lord, so maybe some book or bookcase that belongs to a man?

I know this is a real reach, but is there any chance you have a fake book, like a hiding place?

Joan Marie, it makes sense that it's near a book case. I have a lovely little desk that I never use with lots of little drawers - secret ones if you like. I'll search through them again tomorrow. Maybe I missed it the fifth time round ! It's actually the desk where I kept all my Tarot decks before taking them all out last spring. But I took it out with them. I have the recollection of taking it into my room with the others. But maybe this is a false memory. I seem to remember it on my piano, behind and under which I've already checked. It wouldn't be anywhere near my husband's books or things. It wouldn't make any sense for me to have put it there. It's almost impossible. But I'll look... just in case.

I'll look tomorrow and let you know. I tell you, the chocolate is heavenly so I hope you're right !! And also I would be so happy to be reunited with my Knapp Hall which is useless for me for readings, but it's a hugely important deck in the history of the Tarot. I feel a bit lonely without it.

I did a horary for you, which I really don't know how to do. My first interpretation was that it's in a bottom corner of something and a secondary, maybe contradictory, interpretation was that it was higher up, so like a second floor closet or an attic or something. A desk (buried in a bottom corner of a drawer but not on the floor) would make sense.

I kinda gave it a try. Tried to do it by astrological houses and pulled the ten of swords. So house 3, communications and intelligence and early education and siblings or something. I'd say by a computer, phone, or to back Joan Marie up, a bookshelf. Or a sibling's house or maybe by a book with a sibling connection somehow.

Or maybe by a computer or communication device would make sense. The internet is a sort of book thing. Idk what Lenormand books means. Learning? I guess then to back Charlie Brown up or tie it all together, a computer desk could fit.

Ehhh 🤷🏿‍♀️ hahaha
On my phone mainly so pardon the typos! Also if I seem more lucid than average, I'm probably typing on a PC. Hah!

So I'll take some time today to do a thorough search of the places that everyone has indicated and similar places. And I am confident that TODAY I will be reunited with my Knapp Hall.

I actually only today went to read up on who Knapp was (the illustrator). His real name was John Augustus Knapp and was raised in Kentucky. https://freimaurer-wiki.de/index.php/En ... stus_Knapp

He did some remarkable drawings and paintings : https://www.google.com/search?q=augustu ... 80&bih=646

I sincerely hope that a box of real chocolate will soon be winging its way to someone. (Charlie Brown, you're being a bit greedy here.... you already got some for Christmas!!!!! 🙊 )

I searched already all the places indicated. No sign of the Knapp Hall. I did find an old Lenormand though, dating back to the 1920s. It's got the LWB and all. https://www.wopc.co.uk/uk/cartes-lenormand It's really really old. It just breathes history and mystery. I wonder who owned this deck before it came into my possession. I must have bought it from ebay and had forgotten about it .

There's one very big bookshelf it may have fallen behind. But it's too heavy to move. I'd have to take all the books out first and then get someone to help me move it so I can see behind it. So I'll do that in the next couple of days when I have the energy to do such boring work, but I doubt very much it's there. But there is a slim slim chance. I MAY have placed it there once when I was not concentrating although it's an unusual place for me to put a deck of cards.

It makes sense all the places that have been indicated. It must have something to do with a desk or a bookshelf. I wouldn't have put it in the fridge or in the shoe cupboard....

Aaah that's smart. Well I don't know anything about reading the Lenormand. How many cards do you suggest that I draw ? Is there anything particular I should pay attention to in the method of drawing and the spread ?

Try 3 cards- lay them right, left, then middle card last.

Then just look. See if it tells you anything. Remember Lenny is very straightforward. Just look for simple message.

So on the left is the Fish (no 34).
In the middle is the Rod (11)
On the right is the Letter (27)

Knapp Hall.jpg

Not the little booklet tell me that the Fish predicts big fortune and luck in my undertakings abroad; at a distance - they tell you that your plans and schemes will fail. What does it mean "at a distance" ? A distance from what ?

The Rod it tells me signifies family quarrels, domestic sorrows, trouble in married life, fever and long illness. Oh dear.... my Knapp Hall doesn't like me anymore - maybe it's divorcing me because I don't ever praise it and have even called it uninteresting. 😓

And the Letter without clouds is a message of good fortune which will come to me from abroad. If dark clouds surround the card, a great deal of sorrow will trouble me.

Does this mean I've lost my Knapp Hall for ever ?

Only kidding. The heavy bookshelf I was talking about and which was also suggested to me in the other readings done, is behind the wall separating the room it's in and the bathroom. The bookshelf is right up against the wall. I'm thinking that it's slipped somehow behind it according to this reading. It's also a bookshelf where there's a drawer where I keep envelopes and stationary. I may have to use a sort of a rod or a broomstick or something to get it out.

I'll do this tomorrow during the day and will post here the result.

Unless someone else has another interpretation ? It's the first time I'm using a Lenormand so I don't know what I'm supposed to be looking for.

I see the letter as representing your cards (can be anything made of paper). So the message I get is you will find them (fish) but with some difficulty, effort (whip), like moving a heavy bookcase.
Just be careful please!

Thanks so much.

The heavy bookcase should be less heavy when I've finished. I'll use the opportunity to get rid of books that don't serve any purpose except for collecting dust. There are novels there that I'll never read again. For some reason, I find it hard to get rid of some books. I look at "Atlas Shrugged" - Ayn Rand's philosophy is abhorrent to me. But each time I put it on the "get rid of" pile, I snatch it back at the last minute, knowing I'll never read again. But John Galt... he deserves a place on my bookshelf... or does he ?

Ideally I'd like to get rid of at least half of the books when I do my search for the Knapp Hall.

How funny ! Which one was it? I didn't take the time to search my bookshelf and behind it. I got caught up with the series Ancient Aliens on Netflix. I went to watch if for a bit of a laugh. I'm not laughing anymore... it's rather destabilising. I'll need the help of the Tarot here to get my mind less befuddled.

I wonder if this time though Atlas Shrugged will finish in the get rid of pile... I have a feeling no. It's John Galt you see. It's a bit like Crowley. I can't stand the man and his magic(k) and particularly his views on a perfect government (the latter make my blood turn cold and cause shivers down my spine - I think they are similar to Waite's but maybe I'm mistaken), but I recognise his genius all the same. I'm not keen on Manley P. Hall either (and on top of it he's boring) but I want to find his deck!!!

Some collection of small essays from about 1970 or so. The main piece is a comparison between Woodstock and the Moon Landing, which starts out having some interest but quickly degenerates.

I have a rather embarrassing Ayn Rand collection.

Many years ago I read "The Fountainhead" and I really did like it. I was able to get past Rand's leaden prose and limited capacity for descriptions (she repeats herself a LOT). I liked what she was saying about how art appeals to our higher nature and lifts us. I also like the deep-dive (well it felt deep to me) into modern architecture and it's principles. I always like novels that have as an integral part some very specific topic like that to wrap the whole story around.

When I finished reading it I immediately went for "Atlas Shrugged." And I got into it for the first hundred or so pages and that's when I went online and bought a whole set of books by her. One had the especially pretentious title of " What Art IS." It was a kind of continuation of the ideas she discussed in "Fountainhead" only this time instead of being attached to a character in a novel, she was now the self-proclaimed authority on..well... What Art IS!

Anyway. Atlas just proved too much. By the time I got to the John Galt speech on page 1000, I was so over her. I did finish the book, but mostly the way you watch a car wreck or something. I just could not believe how bad it was.

The John Galt speech is just insufferable to me. It's so sanctimonious and repetitive and just ...It's been a long time since I read it and I am almost tempted to have another look at it just to see if I still find it as laughable as I did the first time. I'm told that no matter which edition you have, she ordered that the John Galt speech always begin on page 1000. And it just repeats everything the book has been saying over and over and over and over for 999 pages.

A generous interpretation of her I have heard is that she was too optimistic about human nature. If we really sought to work in our own self-interest we would realise that this would include the self-interests of all of society.

I tend to think though, that she had a basically low opinion of most people at the end of the day and that she believed most of us would be happy and lucky to trade in our labour and talents for a handful of dimes every hour courtesy of those sexy industrialists she idealised.

So, being exhausted by Atlas, I never cracked those other books and they have been in a box in my attic for years. Every once in a while I see them and am just ashamed I own them.

I suppose they might make a good gag gift for someone.

Cleaning bookshelves os a good thing to do sometimes.
I hope you find that deck!
