What incredibly diverse and beautiful cards we're seeing. Thanks to everyone so far.
Rumi was asked “which music sound is haram?” Rumi replied, "The sound of tablespoons playing in the pots of the rich, which are heard by the ears of the poor and hungry." (haram means forbidden)

Wow these are all amazing
That Strength card really helped me bridge the gap between RWS and Thoth for that version. I've got whole new insight into who this Strength lady is. Wow. Thanks Lindsemercury!
I love it when that happens! It's so wonderful being able to show each other how we see the cards and how we see tarot, instead of only telling! I guess that's a perk for the hypermedia internet world. Hooray for forum integration of heavy picture use hahaha. Especially for us tarot nerds hehe

And now we have a lovely 2 of Cups from Marigold!
We are now just about 1/3 of the way to a full deck. About 1/3 of the claimed work still out and about 1/3 of the cards still unclaimed.
I'd say we are doing well and making good progress.
Great work everybody!

And now the King of Swords Ladies and Gentlemen..
Thank you Marigold!
By the way..we are all running a little behind on the text that should be going with these cards, but that's okay. We can catch up on that later. Right now getting the artwork in is the most important thing.
It's going so well!

I can't wait till all the cards are done so we can really get to discuss them. And read with them ! Right now it's like having some tantalising fruit hanging from the trees... we can see them but they're JUST out of reach.
But can I just ask one wee little question and then I'll be done. What is the constellation on the Magician card ?
Oh... one more thing. Does anyone here know someone in their entourage who can read Cyrillic and even better Russian fluently ? I can't translate the writing on the card that I made of the King of Swords. I assume it's the name of the bird. Even with a Cyrillic alphabet chart, I didn't manage to translate because the writing is too cursive and stylised.

No that can't be it. Firstly it's written USSR at the top in Cyrillic. Dated 1965.fire cat pickles wrote: ↑19 Sep 2019, 23:10

But I'm talking about the writing on the side the one that's sideways and all sort of pretty and cursive. I'm thinking there are maybe there are members here who have Russian colleagues or acquaintances who they could ask. It's very hard to decipher if one's not fluent with this alphabet. It's not the standard way of writing it.

This is the full translation:
Post office of USSR

1965th year
Kоршун is the cursive and it's a type of bird, a kite:

My goodness. You're efficient !!! Can I hire you to tidy up the mess in my files on my computer ?fire cat pickles wrote: ↑19 Sep 2019, 23:46 This is the full translation:

Thanks so much.
I was certain it was a falcon. But luckily, after reading up on kites, this works also very well for this card. So first when I saw you said it was a kite, my heart kind of sank because I thought this wouldn't work anymore. But it does - slightly differently but just as well. Hardly need to modify the description of the card and definitely not the meaning.
To thank you I'd love to take you with me for a coffee and a croissant at my favourite tea room. So put on your shoes... I'm waiting for you!
(What about the constellation on the Magician card? As you seem to have some access to omniscience, I'm sure you know what it is!!)

Re: Latest Additions to the CoT Deck: Button Soup Tarot
I will write Attilla and ask him what constellation that is.
BTW- I re-positioned your art so the "K" is not cut off:
And FYI for everyone, all these mock-ups I've been posting are exactly that, just quickie things I made so that we can have the sense of a deck forming.
These are by no means the final cards.
We have so many in though now that I really ought to get that together and start putting together and posting the actual cards. I think I have enough feedback from everyone, and opinions of my own, to put together something we can all at least mostly agree on.
If I seem to disappear for a day or two, you'll know what I'm doing.
