Little Soul's Party deck / Fool card

As soon as I saw the picture of the Fool, I instantly made a visual and emotional connection with it because it reminded me of an image I'd seen elsewhere.

And then it hit me, the character of "Pup", the epitome of innocence in the Peter Greenaway film, "The Cook, The Thief, His Wife and Her Lover"

I mean no offence to Penelope Cline, as this is merely an off-the-cuff observation, very much in the spirit of the thread: "Art That Reminds You of a Tarot Card"

Goodness, that's very funny! I've never seen the film, or even glimpsed Pup (startling resemblance! ), but I'm pretty sure you must have seen the back and white forerunner to this image before (ink on white scraper board), as I posted it on the Tarot Collectors Forum a few years ago. Funny too, that I've always thought of this character as PIp and even began thinking up a children's story about him.

So it's a tarot card that reminds you of art...! I'm glad to have seen Pup - I might even seek out the film now.

No, I never saw the forerunner to the tinted version, which I much prefer.

Personally, especially taking into consideration the overall personality of the deck, I prefer the character of "Pup", but whatever.
You have to watch the film to understand my meaning.

The irony indeed, a tarot card that reminds one of a different visual artistic medium, but it actually makes sense.

I highly recommend the film, Greenaway's films are visually entrancing, although his scripts are not for the sqeamish, but they are rather brilliant......most of the tme.

I thought that's who you were referring to, this is very funny , pips and pups

actually the Pip from Dickens doesn't really make much sense in context of the the Little Soul's Party, Fool persona, at least not to my mind.

That's a very intriguing deck, a hybrid of various tarot and lenormand elements.

"The Man" is suggestive of the Strength card with elements of Thoth by way of the antennae on the guys forehead, so it also brings to mind the Thoth Emperor to a certain degree.

I like the coat, the design reminds me of Klimt.

Ah, you've found me out. The Man himself is not actually based on a Klimt figure, although The Lady is inspired by one of his portraits. And re. the title of the lady (rather than 'woman') card, sadly it's all due to childhood programming. I tried, but couldn't somehow manage to commit it to print, although in my defence I do think she looks rather reserved and therefore 'ladylike'.

And now I come to think of it, Pip started off as Pippin, but got shortened along the way.

It's really two decks - a fairly straight tarot and a Lenormand in the same style with the same theme, with the idea that both the Fool and the Little Soul (who is both the butterfly and Pip) are on a similar journey - taking in a fancy dress party along the way (I know, it's an odd idea, but I do like odd ideas). The little butterfly is passing through its life cycle and the relevant stage is illustrated on each card, although not always easy to find as the cards are poker size and the butterfly is small.

Some cards serve for both decks, so in order to use a single system one must select/separate the two decks. Alternatively all the cards may be used together in any way that the reader wishes - entirely intuitively or with a combination of tarot and Lenormand meanings or with elements of both traditional meanings and intuition.
