Leonora carrington and the Tarot
Leonora Carrington had a strong interest in Tarot,Alchemy and Kabballa and I like to look through her work with a view to connections with the Tarot. The following painting called the conjurer relates, IMHO, to the Magician
she produced a sculpture from this
I hope to include more examples as I find them.

Oh my. That is astonishingly gorgeous. What I wouldn't do to have that in my garden.

Another Carrington painting. I have ringed two parts that I think might be Tarot influenced. I also include a picture of a sculpture she developed from the "high priestess one.

Just came across this while looking into Carrington. It is a Tim Walker photo of Tilda Swinton doing the carrington image.

Re: Leonora carrington and the Tarot
Carrington produced Two plays. One called Penelope was staged by Alejandro Jodorowsky in 1957. I am trying to find out more about this. I would like to know how well she new Jodorowsky With him involved you might expect some tarot and there is a clear hanged man in the set which carrington designed.
Re: Leonora carrington and the Tarot
Carrington is mentioned in Jodorowsky's memoirs (there are a couple of different books), although, as with all his work, to be taken with a generous pinch of salt.inomminate wrote: ↑14 Jun 2019, 09:19 Carrington produced Two plays.
