You know I love how Joan-Marie never omits to give us a Card of the Day. Every single day, she gifts us with a wisdom and a beautiful card.
So I was thinking we could also start a thread here where we could share our own little wisdoms, whether they're our own personal ones made during our Tarot journey, or inspired by others, or even quotations.
I came to make this thread, because I just read something just now that made me go Aaaaah. That kind of aaaah, that sort of release and sense of wonder when you read something that finally explains in words what you've been feeling for so long. And that kind of feeling one just wants to share with someone.
So here is my wisdom of the day/week/month/year:
It was the Tarot that gave birth to the cards. Not the other way.
(I notice that I often refer to the Tarot as "she" instead of "it". I realise now fully why. I had other pieces of the puzzle but this one was was missing.)
This forum is officially closed. It will however remain online and active in a limited form for the time being.

Rumi was asked “which music sound is haram?” Rumi replied, "The sound of tablespoons playing in the pots of the rich, which are heard by the ears of the poor and hungry." (haram means forbidden)
Re: Tarot wisdoms - yours or others
My friend Anna and I once had two Tarot Study Forums. The one devoted to the Tarot of Marseilles came to be called the Blue Forum and the other one for non TdM things came to be known as the Red Forum. I think we may have merged the Blue Forum into the Red Forum at one time due its inactivity - TdM hadn't yet captured the imagination and attention of the English speaking world. It's all different now.
Anyway, on the front page of the Blue Forum, the following was written. I think it was me who wrote it. It's the kind of pompous thing I would have written at the time. I still like it though so here it is :
The wisdom of the Tarot of Marseilles, this majestic picture book of 78 unbound pages, sets us free from self-imposed limitations. True freedom does not mean making arbitrary and more or less uninformed decisions. Freedom means putting into practice the laws of the universe. This concept is common to all traditional teachings, including the Tarot. The wisdom of the Middle Ages, which has been transmitted to us through the Tarot of Marseilles, was «Servire Deo, Libertas».
