I wasn't sure what to expect, thinking it might be just some really basic information about card stock and stuff, but I was really happy when it turned out to be so much more than that.
There were many people in attendance who had already created decks, some had done several. But based on the copious note-taking that was going on and the lively Q&A, I'm pretty sure that, like me, even the experienced producers were getting some useful new perspectives on the process from Jadzia.
I suspect that a lot of us are sort of autodidacts on this subject, researching and working out for ourselves the packaging and printing options available to us. So it was really interesting to get some guidance and tips from someone who is well versed on the ins and outs of the whole process and able to present it in such an interesting way.
Jadzia DeForest has written a very concise booklet on the subject. It's called Card, Deck, Book, and Box and is currently available on Amazon at this link.
It's a nice little manual to help an Indie Deck creator approach the whole process on a professional level, optimise resources and create the best final product possible.
