Creators:How to get into the Shops

I have a question for anybody familiar with the retail world, metaphysical shops and or deck distribution.

Last spring I attended a Tarot workshop run by a woman who owns and runs two really successful metaphysical shops in Texas. her message basically boiled down to this:

• Metaphysical shops are doing great business these days

• As an Indie deck creator, you need to get your decks in these shops because they sell boatloads of decks.

She also emphasised that good shops, like hers, pay up front for decks, consignment is not really "a thing." Of course you need to offer a price they can make a profit with. And your product needs to look good on a shelf in a box that stands up.

What I did not ask , and really regret not asking, is: "How does one go about this? What is the proper/effective way to contact shop owners?" (I did actually write the woman who gave the workshop - no reply, despite the "We'll get back to you asap ..." auto reply email I got.)

I know you can do a search for "metaphysical shops (city)" and there are TONS of them all over the world. And they usually have a contact form or an email address on their web page. But actually getting through to someone and persuading them to consider your work takes more than an email address. It's also a massively time-consuming way to go about it.

Does anyone have any actual experiential insight into how best to approach a retail shop with a deck you have to offer as an indie deck creator?

i've sent around 10/20 emails forms for resellers on web & fb when I was trying to sell my decks before my shipping provider start charging me storage fee & got Only 1 reply! BUT I know legit people are advising against it & agree selling via your web/paypal button is best!
so just spread a word make a buzz & fingerscrossed!
