Hey, is everybody ready for Week 2 of 2021?
Lucky for me I am "armed" with the right deck, The Banksy Tarot.
I am currently writing a full review of this deck that I hope to post this week.
And talk about "apropos" (was any anyone talking about that?)
This deck fits my mood, it fits the world mood, it's just what the doctor ordered. And here is my first drawing, my Monday drawing but for the week:
I just started writing my interpretation of these cards and I realised that it's maybe better if I let them stand on their own.
But just to summarise, I think this is a week that calls for courage of conviction, authenticity, and wariness of mediocrity.
Happy Monday!!!

Re: JM DoW: Banksy Tarot
Forgot to post this yesterday.
I've got so much to say about each of these cards.
Wish I had time.
I want to mention the Magician card.
This kind of sketchy looking guy (or is that just a judgement based on on appearance) standing under the "Tourist Information" sign.
Like the traditional "bateleur" of the Tarot Marseille, this guy seems to be looking for a mark, a lost tourist perhaps.
It's just so clever the way the feeling of the traditional comes through in this very modern card.
More later I hope. If not here, than in the review I'm working on.

Re: JM DoW: Banksy Tarot
Wednesday
Banksy's Devil.
These days especially I have been dragged into an abyss by screens. The way this little girl holds this screen like a cherished doll or something. But it is spelling the doom of her soul. Taking away her natural playfulness and high spirit.
My phone is doing that to me these days. To a lot of us.
Careful.

Re: JM DoW: Banksy Tarot
Drew this again. I keep drawing it.
In the booklet with this deck there is a Banksy quote with each card. The quote with this one is
In the best of times I check it too often. In times like these I get positively lost in it.Do more things that make you forget to check your phone.
This is not the way to live. This is letting people literally steal my life away from me inch by inch.
