What is NGC 6052 you ask? It's actually 2 things. It's 2 galaxies colliding. They are located in the constellation Hercules which happens to be showing in the western sky right now in the Northern hemisphere. (by the way, did you know that a galaxy, much less TWO of them, could be located inside of a constellation? I had no idea and my mind is blown.)
Here is a picture of it:
I hope I never become jaded to the fact that I live in an age where a photograph of something 230 million light years away is at my fingertips.
I got this from the Stardate site. And here is how they describe this celestial mass of beauty:
??? Spiders in a fight?NGC 6052 is a mess. It looks a little like a pair of big spiders locked in mortal combat. Instead, though, it’s two galaxies that are staging their own combat — they’re in the process of merging.
Obviously it's a snake who ate an elephant. In any case, it's definitely not a hat.
(nods to fans of "The Little Prince", which coincidentally, is a story with a celestial theme.)
Maybe you see something else.
So here is my idea this week for anyone who would like to follow along.
- Pick a deck you can really scry into.
- Then each day, draw two cards and tell us what you see when they collide, when their messages engage in combat, or swallow each other or make love or however they seem to be interacting to you.
As always, here are some suggestions (and they are only suggestions) to give you a little spirit of the planet of the day that may influence your reading:
- Monday - Ruled by the Moon - Home life, inner life
- Tuesday - Ruled by Mars – Adventures, challenges
- Wednesday - Ruled by Mercury –Letters, messages, communications
- Thursday - Ruled by Jupiter - Advice, exploring, journeys.
- Friday - Ruled by Venus – Love, relationships, Art.
- Saturday - Ruled by Saturn – Work, discipline, training
- Sunday - Ruled by the Sun – The cycle of life, plans, advancement
(If you are new to My Celestial Week or want to know more about it, you can see this post.)
Also remember, you can jump in any time, the week starts when you start it.
So choose a deck for this week's exercise and begin when you are ready.
