New Kickstarter by Sunish Chabba - Kalevala Playing Card deck

I love Chabba's Bharata majors, so when I heard he's working on a new deck, I immediately got curious. Now this project is really right down my alley - it's a Kalevala deck! I'm a total sucker for everything Finnish - my parents spent their honeymoon in Finland, I was born on the shore of the Baltic sea and spent many happy vacations in Finland. I just LOVE Finnish myths, language, culture, nature - everything.
Wonderful line drawings - a colour harmony of sepia coloured ink and old-paper background - beautiful composition and balance between negative and positive space - intelligent use of crosshatching and framing to hint at book illustrations and illuminations - lots of open textures for trees, stones and other natural elements - very very intriguing.
This would fit into my collection. I have the Arcana Tarot playing cards deck and the Dungeon Labyrinth deck, both hybrids of playing deck with tarot characters. This deck is "only" a playing cards deck but bursting with characters that evoke associations and feelings. Oh, I have the Fall of Troy playing cards, too. I love expressive playing cards, and literature-based decks, and anything North European. Yes, this is a deck I hope to be able to support as soon as I'm above the red line again.
The card faces are well done, too. They look traditional, antique and very clear. Harmonious lay-outs all over.
I'll continue to keep an eye on Chabba's work.
PS: shipping is amazingly cheap. Oh dear oh dear. Didn't have the antsy "must have must have" feeling for quite some time but this is an intriguing deck...
