Clean up on aisle REVIEWS

I see there is a need to do some rearranging in the "REVIEWS" section.

There are several posts there that really aren't reviews, just short opinions about decks. Those really belong in the "World of Decks" section.

I'm also trying to work out how to differentiate between written reviews and youtube ones.

Written reviews are original works posted by the author, whereas some (not all) of the video reviews are posted by people sharing links of other people's work.

This is fine, in fact, I love that we have a sort of "curated" list of video reviews.

What I am not crazy about is when people just post a link without any comment. I don't see the point of that.
I also don't see an "unboxing" video as a review. Those belong in the "YouTube videos" section.

In any case I am just thinking out loud here and would appreciate any ideas or comments you might have.

I know there are a few places this forum could be better organised, but I'd really like this Review thing in order and make it really useful for everyone. I want to give people a place to express themselves in writing and also to share their videos or ones they have really liked.

Okay, so I made some progress on this.

As I was "cleaning Up" I realised that a lot of the short reviews were actually very thoughtful, and although they didn't qualify as what I would consider a "Full Review" they were interesting and helpful.

I was thinking of it like movie reviews. Sometimes they are just a couple of paragraphs and give you enough info to decide if it would be interesting for you. And then other times they can go on quite long, put into historical context with other films of the genre or director or star. These reviewers bring all their experience to the piece. It's different than the other kind.

This is how I am trying to categorise them, also adding Video Reviews.

So I created 3 categories and tried to sort what was there into those three headings.
  • Full Reviews
  • Quick Takes
  • Video Reviews
I also re-wrote the "forum rules" for each. Hopefully it's clear for people.

I can see I need to do some other work around here, but hopefully, our Reviews section may run a bit smoother now and encourage more people to contribute.
You can see it here: viewforum.php?f=9

I am very open to any comments or ideas you might have.

Thank you!
