As something of a Marseille guy, I don't think that's the right mindset. It isn't really that Marseille has different meanings so much as it is that there are certain traditions or, maybe, tendencies of style and interpretation common to people who use the Marseille decks. Generally speaking, you'll want to have a slightly broader sense of the cards' possibilities. This, in turn, will require a firmer grasp of the exact question that you've asked. Since the cards are broader in their applications, the context needs to be tight in order to narrow the card back down.
For pips, focus more on the number and suit rather than rote meanings. You'll find that, more often than not, the standard RWS meaning is one facet of the number/suit combo. Think about the 4 of Swords. We see the resting man in the RWS and a protected, blooming flower in the Marseille. If swords = intellect/mind and 4 = structure and we take a generally positive vibe from the card's imagery. We can infer that the mind is well structured and peaceable, which elides to the rest interpretation. But, mental/intellect + physical structure + flowering can also suggest an idea coming to fruition in the world—the 3 of Swords' victory (3S as victory is one of the more non-RWS parts of TdM, look at the laurel leaf on the sword in most decks) has established a new flourishing in the 4. You can then see that peace and prosperity being literally broken in the 5, which gets us back into RWS territory (among other things).
As far as books. Ben-Dov and Jodorowsky are both officially available on Scribd, who'll give you a free 30 day trial.

Hey Wise Angel,
I posted this list of resources somewhere else recently and thought they might be of use to you:
EDIT: I'm assuming from your question that you are a beginner. If not, well, you might get something out of this anyway.
A general introduction to the most prevalent Tarot de Marseille reading style:
https://www.tarotschool.com/TarotTips121101.html
The following interview may also give some insight:
http://www.cbdtarot.com/more/an-intervi ... -enriquez/
Here is a small booklet that gives a brief overview of reading with the Tarot de Marseille. It also provides some good basic meanings for the cards:
http://www.cbdtarot.com/dload/cbdlwb.pdf
A basic outline of the Jodorowsky deck's co-creator's method for reading cards (not as unique as he likes to make out):
https://en.camoin.com/tarot/Basic-Rules ... ethod.html
Examples of using a card's gaze in readings:

The following booklet outlines a method of learning the cards through mystical, quasi-scientific immersion (not the easiest way to get up and running, but a VERY valuable resource to have):

Books:
The way of Tarot: The Spiritual Teacher in the Cards by Jodorowsky
The Marseille Tarot Revealed: A Complete Guide to Symbolism, Meanings & Methods by Yoav Ben-Dov (also available under the title 'Tarot – The Open Reading').
MARSEILLE TAROT: TOWARDS THE ART OF READING by Camelia Elias

Also, some readers (and this approach is growing in popularity) use a method which derives much from fortune telling with playing cards.
A representative method of playing card divination:

If a more fortune telling based approach appeals to you, then I'd suggest Untold Tarot: The Lost Art of Reading Ancient Tarots by Caitlín Matthews. Camelia Elias's book mentioned above represents something of a crossover style.

I'm bumping this because I 'm doing some re-arranging and saw this very informative post was kind of buried with a reading group.
Hoping that it reaches more people here.
