The Kabbalistic Tarot of Papus : a wonderful version !

Post by giordanoberti »

In 1909 the famous occultist Gérard "Papus" Encausse published "Le Tarot divinatoire", a study of cartomancy illustrated with 78 figures in black and white drawn by a young artist, Gabriel Goulinat.

Both the figures and the divinatory meanings attributed by Papus to the 78 Arcana follow substantially those of the Tarot of Etteilla.
But Papus, in his desire to give life to a universal esotericism, wanted to give his Tarot a mystical imprint based on the christian kabbalah and the "archaeometra" of St. Yves D'Alveydre.
It is worth mentioning that Papus was a member of several magical brotherhoods, including the Theosophical Society, the Ordre Kabbalistique de la Rose-Croix, the Gnostic Church, the Freemasonry, the Hermetic Order of the Golden Dawn.
He is also remembered for having founded a mystical brotherhood that still exists today: the Order of Martinists.

Over time the figuresof the book have been transformed into an authentic Tarot deck, but always in a rough way, without respect for the very high esoteric value of that work.
A respectful edition of Papus Tarot was absolutely necessary ! ! !

Therefore I decided to restore the Kabbalistic Tarot of Papus following the rules dictated by the Master to his disciples.
First of all, I commissioned the coloring of the 78 cards to a talented Italian artist: Virginia Covoni.

This deck comes back to life in 2019 (exactly after 110 years since the first printing) in a sumptuous dress created by RINASCIMENTO ITALIAN STYLE ART.
This magnificent deck is in
