Re: What is the 'official,' or traditional, Lenormand deck?

You have your answer DejaVoo! The Blaue Eule/Blue Owl Lenormand seems at least as much appreciated as the Dondorf Lenormand according to what I heard. The Brepols Lenormand/Carta Mundi is well-known too like Leroidetrèfle said, there is as well another one, the Piatnik Lenormand ; I cite it because...

Re: Do your cards ever not mean what they are 'supposed' to?

I've had this on occasion - I remember one reading in particular where I was like, 'look I know this card usually means x, but I'm getting a very strong feeling that it means y' - and I think there's some room there for images to tweak your consciousness in particular ways. People tend to forget th...

Re: Moon in TdM - Cancer or Pisces ? (includes also posts on male/female aspects)

Pisces does make a lot of sense because the constant phasing of the moon is akin to the mutable nature of Pisces. You could say that about any of the mutable signs (i.e., Gemini, Virgo, Sagittarius and Pisces), though. But as I said, the beauty of the TdM is that it's open to personal interpretatio...

Re: Moon in TdM - Cancer or Pisces ? (includes also posts on male/female aspects)

Technically, neither, as there are no historical associations with astrology in the TdM. Remember, it was originally just a deck of playing cards that predated the intentional esoteric symbolism added to the RWS. However, if you want to prescribe astrological associations yourself, it stands to reas...

:?: There seems to be plenty of brand-new ones going around for less than $10.

Edit: Apparently, there's an identical box with AGM instead of Urania on it that's pricier.

What is the 'official,' or traditional, Lenormand deck?

You know, like how for tarot, everyone recommends the U.S. Games Rider-Waite deck in the ugly yellow box because that’s the one referenced in the vast majority of reading material available. Or, for Marseille, most people will say Grimaud is the only way to go (never mind that it isn't the most hist...
