Tarot and Spiritual Insight
I have found that if I make a spread and ask for spiritual advice (in general) I get a response that is not so much for a person but from and to the World. Also, if I lay out these positions, Myself, Community, World, Way, the result is both personal and much more supra-personal. Have you worked wit...

After 6,7,8 of swords Ancestral Tarot (Chosen set of Sequenced Three) Here is an example of a set of three haiku based on a chosen set of three Tarots in sequence in a deck. This could also be done by mixing three Tarots from three different decks, keeping to a sequence. Give it a try! (Not to repla...

Re: What decks stimulate your intuition?
Voyager works well for intuitively poetic writing. It also stimulates focus of attention. Arthurian, Mary-El, Alchemical, Influence of Angels, and Alchemical Visions all provide stimulation. Of course, it's all about connection between image before eyes and the Third Eye and the flow of ink.

Re: X-The Wheel of Fortune (RWS)
Yes, get in with the flow of the universe-- don't impede it with your/my ego-centered self. Not so easy as it sounds! But the imagery shows three flows, or two with a fixed flow: the down-snake, the up-annubis, and the still'd sphinx. Are all these three the flow? or is it the rim of the wheel? Ther...

Re: Touchstone Tarot - a new edition
I have the original edition. As mentioned, the more antiquated fonts and name plate on the original fit in better with the Renaissance aesthetic, to me at least. Also, the new white frames bring in some lightness to the dusky portraits, but do not fit in to the Renaissance ambience-- maybe a welcome...

Re: Do what thou wilt?
It is significant that the Thelemic quintessential proclamation addresses the sacred "Thou" and not the ordinary "you." So, it's not really about you, but about your divine Self, or so I see it. This to me calls for some soul-searching through to just Who one essentially is befor...

Re: XIV - Temperance (RWS)
Temperance RWS is like a great book of wisdom in one page. I assume Waite designed it and Pamela Colman Smith depicted it. It has multiple angles of inspiration, including the ideals of moderation, combination, and transformation. The four Hebrew letters that A.M. showed in big, bold design are just...

Re: XVII - The Star (RWS)
Interesting look at the RWS Star, with Temperance, both as healing, the Star for humanity, Temperance for the individual. In addition, it seems to me, Temperance is about finding moderation, while the Star is about inspiration. Both belong together as guides to Self-transformation and forward progre...

Re: Queen of Pentacles (RWS)
The facial close-up of the RWS queen of pentacles is the epitome of serenity. No stress, no worries. That the lady is immersed in Nature contributes to her state of well being; in an urban setting away from Nature, she would be downcast and despondent. Here, she is full of reverential wonder, which ...

Re: 0 - The Fool (RWS)
TheLoracular wrote about the first three major arcana as the trio of aleph, mem, and shin (or aleph, shin, and mem, for more apt parallel), from Western metaphysics, and tao, yang, and yin from Eastern metaphysics. This makes a lot of sense to me, especially the Eastern vision, and shows the opening...

Re: XV - The Devil (RWS)
"The Adversary exists to test us and give us the opportunity to be our better selves, all the time." I could quote the whole just prior post for its insight into the RWS Devil, so much there. Goethe's Faust agrees with the quote above. The devil running through that epic acts as a prod for...

Re: 6 of Cups (RWS)
Certainly the picture is that of an act of loving giving. It is the creation of harmony between the giver and the receiver, a scene of natural beauty as well. The mysterious man with the spear may very well be a grail knight, walking into the grail ceremony away from the children, another picture of...

But 99% of people in 99% of esoteric doctrines subscribe to the same idea, even simply for not bothering to delve deeply and resolve the details. I'm not quite sure of what you mean by this. Re: Sola Busca TRAHOR FATIS
The child over the flames in this image is difficult to decipher; but one of the things it reminds me of, though it is probably a bit of a stretch, is that Hannibal as a very young child was taken to the temple by his Father Hamilcar and held over the sacrificial flames, and made to swear to his Fat...

Re: XV - The Devil (RWS)
XV -- The Devil Artist Pamela Colman-Smith has the card refer unambiguously to the opposite of the divine again. Her Devil is corpulent (gluttony) and sinister. His horns are curved towards the earth. The upside-down torch in his hands refers to the kundalini fire, which flows down instead of up. Th...
