Re: Daily pip practice
I went to look what Quareia was. (I know nothing about magic). Looks pretty intense. I had to smile at one of their chapters because I used their introduction once when I was designing a card for an Aeclectic collective tarot deck. Although Divinity did make use of the relevant auxiliary causes, it...

Re: Daily pip practice
For my reading I asked the cards is it worthwhile for me to continue working on spirit contact? And I’ll say my reading on this is feeling shaky, I would love some input: First thing that struck me was this was all coins, which surprised me because I generally view coins as being heavily material a...

Re: Daily pip practice
I did a pips only reading for my wife earlier and she had a more fitting interpretation than I did, heh. I thanked her for the chance to practice and the feedback. For my reading I asked the cards is it worthwhile for me to continue working on spirit contact? And I’ll say my reading on this is feeli...

Re: Daily pip practice
To start I’m just going to do three card draws with my trusty Noblet deck I just wanted to say how beautiful the pips cards are in the Noblet. I've always been a Dodal fan and I still prefer the facial expressions and raggedness of the Dodal majors and courts. But the minors are so much nicer, so p...

Re: Daily pip practice
For my own question today, I asked what would the consequences be if I left my current job for a new one at the moment. This is what I got: https://i.imgur.com/SibdM0c_d.jpg?maxwidth=640&shape=thumb&fidelity=medium Apparently swords are all around me right now. Again, I am shuffling thorough...

Here’s a reading I did today for a friend, the question was “How will this epidemic affect my husband’s job?” https://i.imgur.com/mxpqfPT_d.jpg?maxwidth=640&shape=thumb&fidelity=medium My reading was: Prior to the pandemic, your husband’s job was straightforward and thriving. Due to this sit...

Re: Daily pip practice
Truth be told, elemental associations mean very little to me. In this case I used swords to represent mind because I feel a lot of these issues are in my head, not specifically the physical/metaphysical world. I wouldn’t always equate swords to mind. It would depend on the question being asked and t...

I do think I have a lot of lingering malignant materialism floating around in my head from my time as a militant atheist in my youth. - lol -. I used to have a t-shirt which said "Atheist Army - Radical Non-Believers" with all the symbols of the main religions crossed out. It used to lead...

Ooh, I hadn’t considered it that way! Yes, I could see that being important as well. Very important actually. I do think I have a lot of lingering malignant materialism floating around in my head from my time as a militant atheist in my youth. I’ve been working on shifting my beliefs and perspective...

Daily pip practice
Probably the main reason the TdM is considered so challenging compared to RWS and its descendants is because of the style of the pip cards. Some TdM readers don’t even bother with the pips, sticking just to readings with the major arcana. And I’ll admit that getting into the TdM, while I didn’t igno...

Re: Arcanum X (TdM deck by Michael Bridge-Dickson)
Any updates on this? I’ve been watching Michael’s TdM videos on YouTube and they have taken my pip readings up several notches. I don’t love most modern recreations of the TdM but his focus on the progression of organic figures within the cards would make those pips very readable.

Re: TdM Three of Cups
I've always been fascinated by the pairing between Le Pape and Le Diable. Although I'm not in full agreement that the unholy double of Le Pape is Le Diable. Am not sure he's as unholy as one thinks. We could discuss this once in a dedicated thread if we have time. There is a thread already somewher...

Re: TdM Three of Cups
The first thing I see is Le Pape and his unholy double Le Diable. Those are absolutely cards of hierarchy and submission to a more powerful dominant. The adherents clawing at the Pope’s robes and the bound figures of the Devil are subjugated. But the adherents are also devotional. The figures in the...

Re: March TdM Sign-Up
Thank you for the kind words. I’ve always seen Le Chariot as a big ego card, not in a positive or negative sense, just that the charioteer seems like a figure whose ego tends to dominate. So that seems to indicate that card is a good fit for where you are at right now.

Unfortunately, this month's circle is closed. If you like, however, you can answer this for me: How can I best maintain my composure in the midst of all this stress? I understand and thanks for the opportunity! Using the triptych method, this is what I pulled: https://i.imgur.com/hK7WmQl_d.jpg?maxw...

Re: March TdM Sign-Up
Is it still possible to sign up for this? I’m newer to the TdM but have been deep diving into it in the last few months and want more practice reading with it for others.
Thanks so much!

Re: L'Amoureux VI - shoes, cherubs, choices, love and other things
For me the blindfold on the Cupid in the Type I decks completely change the meaning of the card. It could be as simple as the old adage “love is blind” but I think that’s just the top layer. In the Type II decks, Cupid feels like an extension of the man, wavering between potential choices. His feet ...
