Daveluy Lenormand Deck, c.1860 from Old Lenormand Cards
The Daveluy Lenormand deck was produced in Bruges, Belgium c. 1860.
From Caitlin Matthews' private collection, this is a very rare and beautiful deck, one of the earliest Lenormand decks.
According to the World of Playing Cards website, Daveluy created original graphics for the their playing cards and favored
making retro illustrations for their cards.
In the mid-nineteenth century retro meant that the depicted images in the cards were medieval and renaissance characters.
You can see these choices in the royalty figures in the playing card inserts in the Lenormand cards.

Destroyed Dondorf Lenormand c. 1880 from Old Lenormand Cards
From Budapest, these Destroyed Dondorf cards were found by Le Fanu.
These were loved and used for a very long time.
Amazingly the deck was complete, all 36 cards, except for a few torn corners.
They were taped together, had ink spilled upon them, corners torn off.
One can only imagine the experiences the cards endured but survived!
The ruined condition -- perhaps haunted, he thought? -- together with someone's ancient scrawl.
In their found condition they were impossible to use because they were simply too fragile.
Here they are in a form that gives them new life.
They have not been restored except for some of the missing numbers and Dondorf logos have been repaired.
Now they are brought to you in a form you can use and enjoy.
The deck is complete and contains 2 Lady and 2 Gentleman cards, for readers who like use them for same-sex readings instead of traditional alternates, Snake and Cavalier.
It is printed on premium card stock that shuffles easily. Each deck is custom ordered. Comes with NO LWB

Didot Lenormand a.k.a. Paris Primitive c. 1890 from Old Lenormand Cards
The only information that I could find about this deck was that it was printed c. 1890 by Ch. Didot, Paris.
This charming Lenormand is done in primitive style art and contains verses in German and assorted astrological symbols.
Which is why I have entitled this deck, "Paris Primitive" but you can call it the Didot, if you like.It is reprinted as found.
The original backs were plain and are offered with a lovely mid-19th century back.
It is printed on premium card stock that shuffles easily. Each deck is custom ordered. Comes with NO LWB.
